Brief job description:
- Acquire titles, develop networks
- Actively scout for practitioners, academics, thought leaders
- Guide development of manuscripts, in conjunction with editorial production team, to meet market needs, project objectives and publisher standards
- Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of market trends, the literature and related competing products in the fields we serve
- Research new subject areas and markets to drive strategic growth of current subject growth areas
- Negotiate contracts, manage author communications and issues
- Prepare and present proposals and financials to publishing committee
Job requirement:
- Bachelors/Masters/ PhD degree, with at least 2 years of relevant publishing experience
- Experience in identifying and recruiting potential authors
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Articulate go-getter who enjoys working with titles in chosen fields
- Mature, resourceful team player
